Often-used recipes from
cookbooks
I don't have too many original recipes
because I have so many cookbooks and internet recipes. Recommendations
for cookbooks: 1) Go to your local library and check out their
cookbooks. If you really like it, you can buy it. 2) Check out the Mail
Order Catalog's bargain
books section.
I think the amount of work you
put in ultimately detracts from how good you think something is, so
most of these are all pretty simple.
- Spanakopita Square Meals
from Simply Heavenly (They must have had divine inspiration! This one
is a lot of work, but it's totally worth it.)
- Chick-Pea Curry from
Cooking With PETA (quick, large yield even with half a recipe, good!)
- Robin's Pot Pie from The
Compassionate Cook (I feel comfortable serving this to omnivores.)
- Stuffed Shells from The
Uncheese Cookbook (Also omnivore-friendly)
- Blueberry-Poppy Seed
Muffins from The Compassionate Cook (minus the poppy seeds)
- Pancakes from The
Compassionate Cook (add blueberries!)
- Macaroni and "Cheese"
Casserole from The New Farm Vegetarian Cookbook (Skip the versions in
The Compassionate Cook and The Uncheese Cookbook--this is
it!)
- Aduki Bean and Vegetable
Crumble from The Single Vegan
